Information regarding two export transactions to Belarus

EKN is currently evaluating and analyzing the situation in two projects in Belarus. EKN has outstanding binding guarantee offers regarding the payment risk in export transactions for these projects - two gas power plants.

In August 2020, EKN decided to issue guarantee offers for exports of Swedish equipment to two gas power plants in Belarus, with the buyers RUE Minskenergo and RUE Brestenergo. With the guarantee offers, EKN undertook to cover lenders' payment risk.

EKN guarantees payment risks for exports to countries in accordance with the Swedish trade policy regarding trading countries. A prerequisite for a lending bank to get a guarantee offer from EKN, is that there must be an approved plan for how social risks and environmental risks are to be managed.

EKN is currently evaluating and analyzing the situation in the projects. EKN has outstanding binding guarantee offers but has not yet issued any guarantees.
