EKN is considering a guarantee for financing equipment for the Cariboo Gold Mine Project in Canada. The project is located near the town of Wells in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
The project involves the establishment of a new gold mine consisting of underground mining, a processing plant, and facilities for handling and depositing waste rock and tailings. The project also includes a transmission line and roads for transportation. Production is expected to commence in 2027. EKN has provisionally classified the project as A and is conducting an analysis of the project's social and environmental risks. These are initially assessed as relating to the impact on biodiversity, land, and water.
