EKN has become a signatoree to the Equator Principles
The Equator Principles are an international risk management framework used by financial institutions to assess and manage environmental and social risks in projects.
The Equator Principles are closely aligned with the OECD Recommendation on Common Approaches for Officially Supported Export Credits and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (the “Common Approaches”), which EKN already applies. EKN’s compliance of the Equator Principles therefore does not entail any significant change in how EKN assesses and manages transactions. It does, however, provide greater opportunities for EKN to coordinate and collaborate with banks on the assessment and management of environmental and social risks in projects.
