The owner is the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Directorate General of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM).

The project includes a 201 km long new railway line in northwestern Turkey, between the cities of Bandirma and Osmaneli. The project will integrate industry and passengers to the high-speed line between Istanbul and Ankara.

The project has a preliminary classification as category A. The key potential social and environmental impacts of the project relate to biodiversity, land acquisition and resettlement, as well as cultural heritage. The project's environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) can be found in the following web link:

EKN conducts Environmental and Social (E&S) due diligence of the project based on the existing ESIA. EKN is engaged in close dialogue with involved parties to ensure that risks are managed in line with international standard.
