WTO

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) handles international trade regulations. The objective of the WTO's regulations is to assist producers of goods and services, exporters and importers in conducting their business and facilitating trade between countries.

OECD

Export financing plays a crucial role in the work of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). EKN collaborates within the OECD on several different issues and regulations.

EU

There are two political areas that govern state guarantees within the European Union (EU). The first is the trade policy focusing on global competitive neutrality and the second is the competition policy focusing on competitive neutrality within the EU and non-subsidies.

The Berne Union

EKN is a member of the Berne Union (International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers), which is an industry association with around 80 members from all over the world.

The Paris Club

The Paris Club is the forum where public and officially guaranteed export credits are renegotiated when a country has encountered such great payment problems that the country can no longer honour its commitments.

Reinsurance agreements

The export credit agencies in different countries collaborate through different forms of co-operation agreements. The most common are reinsurance agreements. Reinsurance can be used when a main supplier makes purchases at a fixed price from one or more foreign sub-suppliers.

The Nordic Region

The export credit agencies in the Nordic region collaborate by engaging in discussion and sharing information.

Annual meetings are held on the executive level and for several sub-groups for discussions on technical issues. This gives EKN the opportunity to meet and have discussions with its Nordic colleagues and strengthen contacts.
