Anna-Karin Jatko, New Director General of EKN

Anna-Karin Jatko comes from a position as Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Government Offices. She previously worked as Deputy National Budget Director at the Ministry of Finance, and between 2005 and 2010 she was a member of the Board of Directors of EKN.

"The Board of Directors and I look forward to working with Anna-Karin Jatko in her new role as Director General of EKN. Her experience from leading positions in the Government Offices, combined with her knowledge of EKN's activities, will be important qualifications for her work on the further development of EKN during the coming six years. On behalf of the Board I wish Anna-Karin a warm welcome to EKN," said Jan Roxendal, Chair of the EKN Board.

Anna-Karin Jatko succeeds Karin Apelman, who has been EKN's Director General since 2007 and a Board Member since 2002. Karin Apelman's appointment comes to an end on 4 March 2016.

"With her strong involvement in supporting Swedish trade worldwide, Karin Apelman has successfully developed the role of EKN and its importance for promoting exports and internationalisation among Swedish businesses. Under Karin's leadership, EKN has grown to be one of the world's leading export promotion organisations, and one which enjoys the widespread confidence of clients, banks and principals. The Board would like to warmly thank Karin for her valuable achievements during her nine years as Director General and wishes her all the best going forward," Roxendal concluded.
