International Working Group
The International Working Group on Export Credits (IWG) was created on the initiative of the USA and China in 2012 and has been active ever since.
The IWG’s aim is to negotiate new global guidelines that not only cover OECD and EU countries, but also emerging markets such as the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).
The EU plays an active role in this collaboration. The Commission represents the EU in coordination with the member states. The IWG meets three times a year and has a rotating chairmanship (between the US, China, the EU and Brazil).
