More people know about EKN

We are spreading information about EKN by means of seminars and delegations – both on our own and together with others. Knowledge about EKN has increased and our regional presence in Sweden is appreciated.

There is keen interest in meeting EKN, obtaining information about guarantees, and discussing business opportunities. An increasing number of companies have become EKN customers in recent years, and knowledge about EKN and what we offer has increased perceptibly. The regional managers in the customer team for small and medium-sized enterprises travel in their own region and meet many companies in order to discuss specific export opportunities.

EKN has also focused on marketing to large corporates and banks. During the year, 124 companies became new EKN customers; 104 of these are small and medium-sized enterprises, while 20 have an annual turnover above SEK 1 billion

Focus on Western Sweden

At the end of 2009, EKN made a special push in western Sweden. This local presence has been very well received. EKN will now evaluate this investment in order to decide whether to invest in other regions.

Well-attended meetings and seminars

We have held a large number of meetings for exporting companies and banks at different locations in Sweden.

We have also provided information about EKN for internal training sessions that banks arrange for their business advisers and other staff. We have also taken part in meetings arranged by other bodies. These include the Swedish Trade Council’s seminars on Africa and Latin America in various locations in Sweden. Another example is Deutsche Bank’s well-attended seminars on foreign affairs which were held in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, and at which we gave a presentation on how EKN can take part in financing. EKN has also participated in events focusing on exports in cleantech during the year, both in Sweden and abroad.

Cooperation with export promoters

Together with the Swedish Trade Council, Almi, the Swedish Export Credit Corporation and Swedfund, we spread information about how exporting companies can conduct more and secure transactions and investments.

At the Almedalen Week, we were invited to Företagarna and held a seminar entitled “Trading abroad – the potential, problems and politics”.

We also participate in Jönköping Inter­national Business School’s training programme, with a course and training compendium aimed at providing students about to join companies with knowledge about what export-promoting organisations offer.

More online applications

During the year, we launched the facility to manage further types of guarantees online via the Internet. As this speeds up the processing of transactions for customers and gives them a good overview of insured transactions, the process of extending the service to other types of guarantees is continuing. 423 of the year’s 2,662 applications came via EKN online brought in 423 of the year’s 2,662 applications and at the end of the year we had 125 active online accounts.
