The tremendous flow of business imposed great demands on EKN’s employees. The summary of the year shows that we are well supplied with highly skilled employees – and that we make effective use of our skills. We have increased the issuing of guarantees online. We have employed more people and we have sought help from external consultants.

EKN has 145 employees. 1) Martin Källervald is based in Gothenburg. 2) Susanne With often gives talks about EKN. 3) Robert Wickman works closely with Almi and the Swedish Trade Council, organising seminars for SMEs. 4) EKN arranges export seminars.
EKN employees have issued 2,104 offers and guaranteed 1,405 transactions in 134 countries, and we have also managed a portfolio of record size. At the same time, our administrative processing times have been reduced, and our client surveys show that the companies are even more satisfied.
EKN will be a responsible employer, able to attract, recruit, develop and retain skilled personnel. In order to keep abreast of the increased business volumes in a secure and efficient way, the organisation has been reinforced with some 20 new employees. The people recruited are primarily underwriters and country risk assessors – employees with specialist knowledge in assessing credit and country risks. As at 31 December, we had 145 employees.
EKN has developed an induction training course for underwriters, which provides new employees with an in-depth understanding of EKN’s services, regulations, and ways of dealing with problems and losses. The purpose of the training is to bring new employees rapidly up to speed in their work, and to ensure the quality of their work. The training has been appreciated, and has made it easier for new employees to contribute rapidly to achieving the objectives of the business.
All employees will receive the training needed to do their job well, and they will also be given opportunities to develop their skills. The training may be geared to individuals or be generic for all personnel. During the year, all employees were offered training in public access and secrecy, and safety during official journeys, and were offered coaching in writing clearly. EKN employees are also given regular training on sustainable development.
In order to develop an attractive, efficient and properly functioning workplace, EKN conducts employee surveys every quarter. The objective for the year was to achieve an employee satisfaction rating of at least 60. The results from these surveys have gradually improved, and the average for the year was 67.
EKN is governed by a shared set of values. The business shall reflect these values: professionalism, a sense of responsibility, commitment and mutual respect. Managers at all levels have a particular responsibility to be role models, to inspire people and to develop the internal culture. This set of values is new this year, and has been produced jointly with all our employees in the various work teams.
EKN will be a workplace delivering highquality work, with a god working climate. The composition of the workforce shall match that in the community at large. The gender distribution and age structure shall be even. A salary survey was conducted during the year. This showed that there were no unwarranted salary differences between men and women at EKN.
