Highlights of the year
It was a record year for the demand for EKN guarantees. Both the number and amounts of offers and guaranteed transactions in 2009 exceeded all the previous years in EKN’s 77-year history. We guaranteed 1,405 transactions.
We guaranteed transactions for 121 companies who had previously not been clients of EKN. Of these, 99 were small and medium-sized enterprises.
At the year-end, we had outstanding offers and guarantees to a value of SEK 364 billion in 134 countries – a record.
The year’s premium income was nearly SEK 3 billion – also a record.
Parliament and the Government granted an increase in our guarantee limit. We can now issue guarantees for up to SEK 500 billion.
The volume of losses increased, but remained at a low level.
